It was not easy to find just the right brush, but now that I have, I am very happy. Another reviewer said that this brush was too big to fit in to a Nalgene bottle. That is not true. My Nalgene bottle has a 1 1/8" opening, which is the smallest opening I've seen for a Nalgene bottle, and this brush goes in and out of it with very little effort. The bristles are soft, which I like. It cleans much faster than my old brush because it's easier to control.

I have not reviewed many items, but I had to take the time to review this brush because every Nalgene bottle owner should have this bottle brush.

When I received my brush in the mail, some of the bristles on the end were flattened out from being in the box. After sitting on the counter overnight, the bristles had straightened back to their original form. So if yours has "bed head" when you get it, don't freak. It'll probably go back to normal with a little time.

It easily fits into narrow necked bottles. Our family uses SIGG bottles and it does an excellent job with both the .6L and the 1L versions. Though it's barely long enough for the full size 1L bottles, it does work well. As other reviews have said, the neck of the brush is flexible, but that may be misleading. I was concerened when I read those because I thought that it was "pose-able", but no it just bends under pressure and straightens back out. The bristles are probably soft enough for plastic, but are stiff enough to clean around the small dents in an aluminum bottle. Really the biggest problem for me is; where do you store it when you're not using it? :)

PROS:
OXO tactile rubbery grip
Excellent balance between too soft and too firm bristles
Long bristles and narrow head to clean almost any type bottle

CONS:
VERY close to being too short (effective length 8)
May actually be too short for some of the klean kanteen bottles I've seen

I bought two of them so I could install them in each of my childrens bedrooms so I could tell the range of the temp and humidity each of thier rooms. First I put these next to my house thermostat which has a current temp and humidity displayed. After 1 hour of being in the same room right next to the thermostat both of the Cheney units read exactly what the temp was, and the humidity on both units were the reading the exact same (7 units higher) then my house thermostat. I don't know if my house unit is accurate or not but at least the two Cheney units read the same for temp & humidity. If they read differently than each other than I would say they weren't accurate but since both read the exact same things I give them two thumbs up and agree this is a great buy, especially since it displays the current temp and humidity and displays the daily low/high for each. Great Product!!!! Small, lightweight, has magnet on back to stick to fridge or can use clip to attach it to belt, or anything it can clip to. Despite other's complaints about accuracy, we have found them to be quite reasonable, especially considering their low price. If you put ours side by side they will all stabilize to within a few percent of each other. They are small, yet the display is very easy to read. They use only a single AA battery. The only down side is that the 24 hour high and low display is not resettable without taking out the battery, but that's only a down side if you are looking for min/max in a time frame other than 24 hours. I've always had it turned on since then, and I've never had to change the batteries. I tested the unit not long after I bought it and again just yesterday (using the NaCl and distilled water test and the Boveda humidipak kit) and after 8 hours the display stabilized at 75% just as it should. This is great to see from a $10 unit. I've traveled with this product and it has held up through that as well. I've never tested the accuracy of the thermometer, as I mainly bought this instrument to read RH in an instrument (guitar) room, and guitar cases. I've also owned "The Weather Channel" brand weather stations with built in hygrometers that were more than twice the cost of this product, and found them to read more than 10% off when testing.
Maybe I got lucky and happened to buy a accurate unit, but from my experience with this I highly recommend buying yourself one.

PS I have since had relatives buy these units and they were not as accurate as the one I bought, so I guess I really might have just been lucky. The other units seemed to report higher humidity then existed (when RH was 40%, they showed +3-5%, which is considerable). The plus side is that they don't seem to get worse over time, so if you know the unit to be off by a certain amount, you should be able to predict the actual RH.

I iron all my jeans - most come out of the dryer with hard creases - this iron presses them all out. Delicate items - poly and blends - no melting! My old Rowenta melted everthing it touched - and then the $15 cleaning kit was a hassel with Rowenta - not to mention all the spitting from the steam holes. The third time I used it, although I was very careful, the piece that holds the cover shut broke off. I have to fill it and tape the cover down with masking tape. It's a real pain. And water still leaks out of the water well all over my clothes. You would think a company like Black & Decker could come up with something better than this. After a while, I was going nuts. I'd go broke buying the adhesive type lint rollers, the rubber ones (search for "sweepa") and the reusable brush type didn't do the job. All I'd heard about was dysons, dysons, dysons, so I started saving. But then I thought, hey, what I want is the little motorized roller brush attachment -- so I got online, started searching, and found this. I figured $40 as opposed to $500 was worth a try, especially with the good reviews.

and it *was*. It gets all the cat hair off my couch, and the nice thing is that the hose just tugs right out and you can also get the little cracks and crevices without missing a beat. The "riser visor" thing, I thought was kinda silly til I started using it -- and it's great. You can vacuum horizontally and vertically, and for furniture, stairs, etc--a great feature.

My only complaint is that it's just a *bit* heavy, especially for longer use. Wears that arm out, but that can be a good thing, too.

I'm still hoping to get a dyson eventually, but for the job I wanted to do, getting pet hair off my furniture -- this is *perfect*.

It's absolutely excellent. It's the best handheld vacuum I've ever tried, and I've thrown more of these things away than I can remember. Fortunately, I've always saved the attachments. Sometimes they fit another model, sometimes they don't. Since there's no fancy coupling required to attach tools to the hose end of this one, its just friction, most fit it.

This is a solid, powerful vacuum. The filter is heavy-duty and seems very durable. It's easily removed and reattached. I use those over-priced compressed air duster cans to blow all the dust and dog hair off of the filter. Between this and my full-size Dyson, there's probably more of the family dog outside the house than in by now. As for the weight of this machine, it is a little heavy, but then I only have to support its weight when doing vertical surfaces or carrying it around. When it's vacuuming stairs and furniture, I let the horizontal surfaces support most of the weight.

Everything about this machine suggests its maker really put a lot of thought and effort into making an absolutely excellent product. And, I commend them for packaging it in protective plastic that can be easily removed without knives, pliers, bolt cutters, or a chain saw. The engineering on this one was obviously thoughtful and thorough.

I bought the Eureka EZ-Kleen to get the fur off the furniture.

Did it ever.

I was slackjawed with amazement to see the sheer amount of cat hair the little machine got up off visually pristine sofas and carpets. While Kitty does not have the Olympic shedding capabilities of my late hound dog, she still produces about an inch of vacuum cleaner fill per day.

This is a great little machine and I will recommend it from the housetops.

#9: Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water Filters, Set of 2

I live in Seoul, South Korea, where it is inadvisable to drink water directly from the tap. Unless, that is, your idea of a good time is to let a little amoebic dysentery cozy up and get friendly with your colon.

Okay, so, the water isn't ALWAYS that scary to drink. Just, uh, just most of the time.

Even when the water doesn't make you sick, it usually tastes like it's been funneled through an old radiator. Coffeemakers, generally speaking, don't include water filters because the brewing process ostensibly kills all of the harmful bacteria. But you can still taste the heavy-metal-goodness in every last drop of leaden java. Lip smacking!

Anyhoo, I purchased a Cuisinart Coffeemaker recently (oh, how I love that machine), and it came with a package of these little filter fellows, and let me tell you, they do the trick. Gone are the filamental-flavors, the taste of scalded electrical wire! All that's left is pure watery goodness, the clean, crisp clarity of two spic-n-span H's and one well-scrubbed O. Now, if this little wunder-filter can do THAT for the brackish dreck that passes for water in Seoul, imagine how much more effective it would be on YOUR water!

Uh. Assuming you also do not live in Seoul. Or, er, Mexico. And parts of Bangladesh. And most of Haiti. And also, maybe, Djibouti. (Although I think Djibouti's been getting its act together with the public water works system these days, thanks to macro-economic reform programs. See the comments section below.)

This is THE 7" tablet to get right now, it blows the competitors clean out of the water in terms of equipment and customization. Google has finally made a winning device, by entering a market not yet dominated by Apple. The device itself is simple to use and offers the latest version of Android. and promises to always give you the newest version -- first.

Let's dig into the deets:

Display: 7 inch IPS LCD, 1280x800 px (216 PPI), LED backlit, scratch-resistant Corning glass.
Processor: 1.3 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A9.
GPU: 416 MHz Nvidia GeForce ULP with 12 cores.
Memory: 1 GB DDR3 RAM
Battery: 4325 mAh, microUSB charger.
Front facing Camera: 1.2 MP.
Other: Multi-touch Touch screen, Gyroscope, Magnetometer, Accelerometer, GPS, microphone.
Connections: NFC, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0.
OS: Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
Footprint: Lighter and thinner than any others in the 7" size.

Pros:

+ Powerful processor
+ All connections included (Wifi, Bluetooth, Near Field Communication (NFC).
+ Standard install of Android means you can customize it as YOU wish to, and all native Android apps are available.
+ Rich screen density, crisp and bright.
+ Light, small, thin.
+ Plenty of RAM for smooth operation.
+ Price.

Cons:

The only con I can think of is it doesn't have a microSD card slot, so if you need more storage the 16gb model might be better for you, but then there is Google Drive to hold you stuff as well, so it's not that big of a deal.

Overall:

This one pretty much hammers the nail in the coffin for the already struggling Kindle Fire, fortunately there are how-to guides online to move your stuff from the KF to the Nexus 7. I mention the KF since it used to be the number one in this category, the others are pretty much rendered obsolete as well.

This is the best option in the 7" market right now.

This is hands down the best Android tablet available. It's incredibly fast, has a really good front camera, the screen looks beautiful, and the features of Jellybean (Android 4.1) are great.

Pros:
-Great size, it's not too big, but you can still easily view movies and use apps made for a big screen like Fruit Ninja.
-Very fast, it has a really good quad core processor. There is zero lag.
-Jellybean has a wide range of high quality features including voice recognition that now works offline.
-Google Now is way better than Siri and it's extremely useful
-Android is so much more customizable than iOS.
-It's three virtual buttons on the bottom allow for easy and fast navigation around the device.
-Multitasking is beautiful and much more immersive. Not even comparable to iOS.
-Has good battery life even when using GPS
-Thanks to free apps, this is a very powerful GPS that will work better than any one from the store.

Cons:
-No rear camera, I don't think tablets really need them, but it would've been a nice feature
-Fragile glass on screen, doesn't scratch easily, but it breaks easily
-Crappy speaker, although all tablets have crappy speakers
-Sometimes I hit the power button instead of the volume rocker because they feel the same and they are right next to each other
-No Micro SD card slot

Nexus 7 vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7 inch model):
The Nexus 7 has a better screen and processor than the Galaxy Tab 2, however it does have some advantages over the Nexus 7.

1. It has a rear camera.
2. It has a built in IR blaster for use as a universal remote.
3. It has a micro SD card slot for a micro SD card up to 32 GB.
4. Has Adobe Flash

A major disadvantage of it though is that it runs the older version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which lacks many features of Jellybean.

Conclusion:
Get the Nexus 7 over any other tablet unless you want a tablet with a rear camera and universal remote. In that case buy the Galaxy Tab 2.
